CTC Prusa i3 Pro B - Z-Axis Motor Coupling Clamp

thingiverse

Simple coupling upgrade for CTC Prusa i3 Pro B z-axis original rubber tubing. The weak point lies where motors meet threaded rods, making it prone to failure. This straightforward upgrade secures the threaded rod to the motor shaft with a clamp. Fitting is easier and removal or adjustment much simpler if needed. Four of these units are required (two for each motor) along with eight M3 bolts and eight M3 nuts to secure the clamps in place. Note: Printing with the flat face of the long axis facing the print bed produces optimal results. The central bore's thinness makes supports difficult to remove, but minor sagging is negligible and doesn't impact operation. In fact, it helps by providing a rough surface for the threaded rods to bond to. Some filing might be necessary in the central bore, depending on print quality and sagging.
