I'm swapping out the old plywood parts for new ones made from ABS because I was getting some serious wobble on the Z Axis. To minimize vibration and keep everything running smoothly, I chose to use F608ZZ Shielded Model Flange Bearings. These high-quality bearings sit snugly in a recess that allows the thread rod to spin with virtually no friction at all. I also fabricated a custom tube to house the guide rod, which can be secured using a collet - another clever move to eliminate wobble altogether. Just keep in mind that you may need to carefully ream out the holes for the guide rods so they fit perfectly. This design is specifically tailored for use with 6mm plywood.
