CTC i3 Bowden Motor Mount

CTC i3 Bowden Motor Mount

thingiverse

I've just swapped my CTC i3 clone to an e3D hotend and Bowden setup. The thingiverse model that made it possible is this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3328782. It's working incredibly well - I simply needed a spot to park the extruder motor. Initially, I cable-tied it in place so I could continue printing without any issues. As it turned out, the position worked fine, so I designed and printed a top Z-axis plate with a basic mechanism to hold the motor securely. The design allows you to clip the motor into place and secure it with a cable tie. It also provides easy access to the filament guide block. For now, I opted for a pre-made solution from Amazon - you can find it here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XB8YQKP. I've added a right-hand version of the design that mounts the motor on the opposite side (as long as your stepper cable is long enough). Additionally, I included the blank top plate and separate 'motor clip' if you want to adjust the angle. Be aware that you may need to drill holes to miss the screws in some cases.
