It is a turbine fan duct directly attached to the carriage. Three parts make up this assembly: the duct itself, plus two small attachment arms. Due to space constraints - specifically, very low height clearance in my application - there's no duct wrapping around the nozzle. To ensure the heater block remains well insulated, attention must also be paid to the thermistor/thermocouple. When printing near the heatbed, excessive airflow can cool down the hotend so rapidly that thermal security measures kick in and halt the print process. Assembling this component is straightforward; just two M3 bolts are required. Before securing them, drill holes for the M3 or M4 screws that attach to the turbine fan.
