CTC / Flashforge / Makerbot PLA cooling fan duct v1.0
thingiverse
This is a remix of three different projects on Thingiverse, still in work and untested. The mount to the X carriage was taken from RotoScan, while the well-designed fan duct came from Lemth, and the fan mount was adapted from Welhelnn. I used my own skills to modify all these components together and create a small case that will manage airflow evenly on both sides. Due to using 40x40x20mm fans for dual-head cooling, I can only mount this kind of device when I remove the E3D holder or the fans themselves from the X carriage. Please leave a comment with your thoughts about my little remix and any suggestions you might have for improvement. Version 1.1 was added, featuring built-in support and an extra 4mm of space for the hotend. Version 1.2 is stronger and more reliable, but still looks like it's on steroids. Print Settings: Printer: CTC Bizer Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 25% Notes: I recommend at least enough bottom and top layers to get 1mm material. Printed at 240° with 105° on bed in ABS. For print speed, use as low a setting as your printer needs without gaps. Post-Printing: You'll need to drill the holes for a M3 thread yourself since many fans are slightly different. I chose not to place the holes inside from the start. Also, you must remove support material at the fan mount.
