CTC / Flashforge Front Panel Power Switch

CTC / Flashforge Front Panel Power Switch

A quick and easy way to move the power switch to the front for ultimate convenience. On these clones they change the AC power connection from the DC output like other printers do. So I created a design to add a front panel power switch recessed so it can't be bumped accidentally while printing. Installation is simple: just drill a 1 1/2" hole in the desired location - lower left corner works best with plenty of space between the power supply and front panel, use a 1 1/2" hole saw to create a pilot hole where you want it. You can mark the other four holes to mount using the provided template as a guide and then drill them out. I used 3mm cap screws that were already in my toolbox but any machine screw would work or simply use something like sheet metal screw into wood panel. The switch is a standard push-button switch measuring 12.5mm by 20mm wide and tall. To connect it make sure the printer is unplugged from outlet or unplug the cord at the back, then remove red jumper wire at power inlet used previously and install your new wires to switch installed on the two points that original jumper was installed for - now you're switching from a short jumper wire that was used as part of system.
