Use a total of eight M3 cap-head stainless bolts to secure the Z axis guide rods to the printer frame, utilizing four at each top and bottom mounting point. The original wooden supports allow excessive play, resulting in poor stability and potential print quality issues. Securely fasten these rods using the existing M3 cap-head stainless bolts from the original wooden mount, taking care to only use two of the four original bolts required for each rod. This ensures a stable and secure connection between the guide rods and printer frame. To achieve optimal results when printing these supports, utilize 0.2mm layer thickness and ABS plastic at 230°C print temperature, paired with a bed temperature of 110°C. No issues were encountered during this process using Simplify3D software. Support structures are necessary in the cap head bolt recesses to ensure proper adhesion and stability of the printed parts.
