The original concept was developed by sndlover February 12, 2016 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1336355 It really is a fine, well thought and lightweighted design! I did some refitting to mount a smaller fan (30 mm) on the upper part. Of course, less elegant than the original … I have to admit. Most of the time my fan is off, since my prints are big enough not to use it. Besides this, my printing speed settings are quite “conservative”, so a 30 mm fan runs fine for my needs. The nozzle part was reduced to 75%, with only two outlets. There is a socket with three 1mm holes in it. It is intended to screw a deflector on it, pointing the airflow below the nozzle tip. Now things turn “rustic”: you can cut this deflector out of a can (beer or any other sparkling soft-drink). It’s a cheap and easy way to get a small and really thin sheet of a resistent & flexible material (steel or aluminium). Besides this, the airflow will cool it down, so no risk to melt any part. Round the corners once the deflector is cut. Advice 1: The deflector souldn’t come to close to the nozzle. The closer to the nozzle it comes, the closer to the bed it remains, and you don’t want to “brush” your prints. So have an eye on your machine during the first prints, and if needed, slightly lift the deflector. Advice 2: This is even more important … Take good care not to harm yourself when cutting the can. Enjoy!
