CTC-3D Stepper Fan Duct
thingiverse
I'm planning to swap out the mainboard fan in my CTC-3D printer because its loud noise has become unbearable lately. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the fixating screws were a bit loose, so I decided to design this component, which seamlessly integrates into an existing 20mm diameter hole on the plywood frame piece near the fan. I've since added a thicker version of the same model after one of the earlier prototypes snapped under my hands. To ensure a smoother experience, I also printed the new version using TPE filament and will install it as soon as possible to test its performance. The thicker model turned out to be a significant improvement over its predecessor, and I've decided to keep both designs on hand. However, there's still the possibility of reverting back to the original model with additional shells if needed.
