Mesh statistics are: Verts - 5137 Faces - 5348 Tris - 10134 Historical Note: CSS Louisiana was a casemate ironclad built to aid in defending the lower Mississippi River from invasion by the Union Navy during the American Civil War. She took part in one major action of the war, the Battle of Forts Jackson and St. Philip, and when that ended with disaster for the Confederacy, she was destroyed by her crew. CSS Louisiana was laid down in mid-October 1861 at E.C. Murray's new shipyard just north of New Orleans. Ship has two paddlewheels and two screws, each driven by its own engine. The paddlewheels were mounted one abaft the other in a center well. Screws were not intended for propulsion, but aided the two rudders in steering in the confined waters and unpredictable currents of the Mississippi. Specifications are: Type: Casemate ironclad Launched: 6 February 1862 Displacement: 1,400 tons Length - 264 ft (80 m) Beam - 62 ft (19 m); Draft - 12-13 feet (3.66 - 3.96 m). Propulsion - 2 x steam turbines powering 2 x paddlewheels. Speed: 8 knots (15 km/h; 10 mph) Armament: 2 x 7 in. Brooke rifles, 4 x 8 in. Dahlgren smoothbore guns, and 3 x 9in.(228mm)guns. Seven 32-pounder guns are mounted on the ship. Crew: around 300 officers and men This model is specifically designed for 3D printing.
