The human body is a complex and highly adaptable system that has evolved over millions of years to enable humans to survive and thrive in a wide range of environments. At its core, the human body is composed of trillions of cells, each working together to maintain homeostasis, or a stable internal environment, despite changes in external conditions. The nervous system plays a crucial role in controlling the body's functions, from movement and sensation to emotions and cognition. It consists of two main parts: the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which connects the CNS to the rest of the body. The PNS is further divided into the somatic nervous system (SNS) and the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The SNS controls voluntary movements, such as walking or talking, while the ANS regulates involuntary functions, like heart rate and digestion.
