Crystalline Entity (SLA and FDM version)
cults3d
I created this model as a test for my Photon resin printer, which I use purely for fun. The Crystalline Entity from Star Trek is an incredibly cool life form in the Trek universe, and I'm impressed by its unique features. You can print the SLA/DLP version of the model in two halves or four halves, depending on your preference. The results are shown in the pictures, with the model printed in translucent blue resin using a 30um resolution and a 10s exposure time. Alternatively, you can print the FDM version of the model, which consists of a core that you can then attach four different-sized "crystal arms" to using glue. This is just a rough design, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.
