The objective behind this design was to craft something that could precisely position the Protolabs logo in a geometric layout, so I built around its distinctive hexagonal shape. From there, I created the crystal form and developed 1mm lattice/voronoi patterns surrounding the chamfers of the crystal. The internal channels were designed to produce an illusion of a cube nestled within the shape, truncated at the middle to avoid obstructing the text. Additionally, tiny stars are scattered around the award, which I utilized for my micro features. The base of the crystal bears resemblance to an extruder head, a detail that adds a nice touch.
