sketchfab

A scale model in bronze showcases a life-size ichthyosaur statue erected in Crystal Palace Park, London, between 1853 and 1855. Sculptor Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins likely created these models. The model displays three distinct species: Ichthyosaurus communis and I. tenuirostris (now Leptonectes tenuirostris), meaning "fish lizard," and the larger Temnodontosaurus platydon, meaning "cutting-tooth lizard."
