Crystal BikeLights plus Smartphone Navigation
pinshape
This is My Entry for the Pinshape Bike Accessory Design Contest! I designed a frontlight and backlight for your bike. The frontlight integrates a smartphone holder for navigation. A spring mechanism automatically holds your phone in place, allowing it to fit many sizes. The same spring mechanism allows the lights to fit on multiple bikes due to an easy clip-on system. I made a short demonstration video on YouTube: Crystal Bike Lights Demonstration Video You can find matching Crystal Bike handles with integrated Blinker/Indicator here: Crystal Bike Handle with integrated Blinker/Indicator The following parts should be printed in flexible rubber material: Frontlight Right Arm Rubber.stl Frontlight Left Arm Rubber.stl Frontlight Bottom Rubber.stl Frontlight Bottom Arm Rubber.stl Frontlight Adjustment Plate Rubber.stl Backlight Arm Back Rubber.stl Print the Frontlight Light.stl in transparent material and the Backlight Light.stl in red translucent material. Choose any color or material for the rest. Some parts need a little support, but most are free from support. You will need the following non-printed parts: 2 x 7x12.5mm springs 12 x white 5mm LEDs 6 x 330-ohm resistors 2 x micro switches (available on eBay) Thin cables (0.14 mm²) 2 x 9V batteries and connector for these (available on eBay) Connect two LEDs with one resistor in a row, then connect three of these pairs parallel. Connect them to the battery connector and place the switch between. Hot glue the LEDs in place and attach the rubber inlays as well. You can see the assembly of the lights in one of the pictures. I hope you like my design! When you print it, please upload some pictures!
