Cryoconite hole Grey glacier (Chilean Patagonia)
sketchfab
Cryoconite granules are dense, dark-colored spheres formed from algal mats found at the bottom of cylindrical water-filled holes on glacier surfaces. Composed of mineral particles, organic matter, bacteria and cyanobacteria, these granules thrive in cold environments. This photogrammetry model depicts a cryoconite hole discovered during an expedition led by the Association La Venta Esplorazioni Geografiche in April 2016.
