I broke my leg and need to use crutches for several months. While I sit or need to use my arms for brushing teeth etc., the crutches are difficult to lean on something. They always slip and fall unless a good corner is available. I designed these parts so that I can lean or hang my crutches on the table, behind the chair etc. You should measure the diameter of your crutch pipe and modify the parameter "crutch_r" in the SCAD file, save as 'STL', and print the resulting STL. All other dimensions should scale automatically. You can also modify the length of the feet from the pipe by changing the "reach" parameter. This design is for a 22mm pipe and 60mm reach. After print is complete, remove any support for the screw hole and make sure the screw passes through the hole easily. An M3-35 screw, washer and nut are needed, but the design can be changed for other screw sizes. Before inserting the screw, pass the holder over the pipe of your crutch through the horseshoe opening. To 'click' it into place, you will need to spread the legs apart a little. The receses around the pipe diameter are made for this purpose. While inserting, make sure the orientation is correct: The feet extend towards the floor. Place the screw, a washer and nut. There is no need to over-tighten. I located the about 10cm below the hand-hold, but you can place them as you find fit. Higher up makes it more stable but it will be difficult to lean on lower tables; lower down the pipe makes it less stable. I find that it is best to attach them at a slight angle outwards, about 15 deg from the hand-hold, so that they are easy to place close together. (Otherwise the arm-cuffs may get in the way.) Glue squares of non-slip material to the faces that will contact, especially the leaning face of the feet and their lower surface. I cut up an old mousepad and it works beautifully. I really like this simple add-on to my crutches, now they stay put and are easily accessible when needed.
