We teamed up with the Vikings creative team, brainstorming ways to craft props that would appear incredibly detailed and lifelike. This week's 3D prop is a metal support beam. Creating it was a real challenge. Our 3D scanner struggled with the intricate negative space, but managed to capture the shape and proportions so we could fine-tune the model in-house. The full-sized metal support beam stands about four feet tall. It's just one more testament to the Vikings' resourcefulness, from building ships and navigational tools to innovations like skis and hair combs. Don't attempt to use this support beam at home – it's not designed to hold a person's weight. Check out the reveal.
