I've designed the NASA Regolith Advanced Surface Systems Operations Robot (RASSOR) Bucket Drum with manufacturing simplicity in mind, utilizing a 3D printer for its creation. The drum is broken down into four distinct parts, making it easy to construct. Inside each section of the drum, bifurcations are strategically placed to ensure that samples remain secure as they rotate. Meanwhile, on the exterior, each part features four spoon-shaped openings, while before each stage, three protuberances protrude, facilitating grinding and providing a smoother entry for the samples.
