CRUMPSAT, a groundbreaking cubesat, leverages FDM technology for its entire construction. The name pays homage to Scott Crump, the pioneer behind this innovative manufacturing method. CRUMPSAT boasts an ultra-strong frame made with Solidworks for optimal reliability and structure, while minimizing material use. ULTEM 1010 resin, with its exceptional heat, chemical resistance, and tensile strength, forms the body. The resin holds NSF 51 food-contact certification and an ISO 10993/USP Class VI biocompatibility rating. CRUMPSAT comes in three models: a 1U model with just three components, a 2U model sharing end covers and a frame, and a 3U model that adds a vertical cadi frame with sub-assemblies for PCBs. The designer adheres to the latest cubesat regulations and specifications, opting for rail chanfers to reduce P-POD surface contact in an optional design revision.
