Cruces Creatives Door Handle Sheath

Cruces Creatives Door Handle Sheath

thingiverse

The door handle on our makerspace was getting too hot in the desert sun, prompting a bold initiative to create a solution. Within two weeks, our team had completed an over-engineered answer; as it happens, the monsoon season arrived just in time to put our solution to the test, and the handle no longer gets scorching hot. Designed with scalability in mind, this innovative design was crafted using Blender. The interior diameter measures a precise 1-1/20 inches, while the height stands at an impressive 6 inches. This makes it suitable for wrapping around any standard pull handle or cylinder with a 1-inch diameter. The printing process involved using PLA at 70% infill, resulting in outstanding strength and stability. The front and back pieces were printed on separate machines, which snapped together seamlessly. Cruces Creatives is a dedicated non-profit makerspace that offers community access to cutting-edge tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and more. Our organization is based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. For further information, please visit our official website at https://crucescreatives.org/. This project was brought to life through the combined efforts of Reese Luckie's 3D design expertise and Misha Bryan's talented crochet skills.
