Crown of Cnut the Great

Crown of Cnut the Great

thingiverse

This is a recreation of the crown of Cnut the Great, A Danish King who stands out as the most significant in history. A coin minted during his reign caught my eye and I wanted to capture what it might have looked like with an artist's impression. It's designed for my size head, but I see no reason why you can't resize it to fit your child's head. Cnut Sweynsson (Modern Danish: Knud den Store; Old English: Cnut cyng; Old Norse: Knútr inn ríki) died on November 12th, 1035. He ruled Denmark, England and Norway as the North Sea Empire's King of Kings. However, after his children passed away within a decade of his death and the Norman conquest of England in 1066, this legacy was lost forever. He is often referenced in the legend of King Canute and the tide, but people misrepresent him as a king who thinks he has supernatural powers. In reality, the original story portrays a wise king who corrected his courtiers for their exaggerated behavior.
