The Crown Macro-Tech 600 1200 2400 series amplifiers are incredibly powerful, robust units that boast exceptional mechanical and electronic protection. They have withstood the test of time remarkably well, but even after 25 years, they require some minor adjustments to maintain optimal performance. A thorough inspection reveals that the screws and nuts need a bit of tightening throughout, particularly around the fan area. It's worth noting that the double-wound design of this fan is ingenious - it cleverly generates both +15V and -15V power supplies for the operational amplifiers. However, one common issue that arises in these amplifiers is cold soldering on the relay and connector cards. To rectify this problem, it's essential to redo the soldering using high-quality lead solder. This process will help prevent future electrical malfunctions. In some cases, the main power cable can become damaged due to friction against the large electrolyte capacity support. To mitigate this issue, I designed a custom part that securely holds the cable in place. By applying neoprene glue to fix the piece and the cable within, the risk of damage is significantly reduced.
