Crown (25p or £5) Key Fob
prusaprinters

So, you've found a £5 coin. You take it to the bank. They offer you 25p. Mmm…

Not all crowns are worth £5. I only learned that this week.

It all changed in 1991 when crowns went from 25p to £5. So with all those pre 1991 coins its time to make some keyrings.

I had one of each. What do you do with what looks like a £5 coin but is actually worth virtually nothing…

Make a key fob.

The Gcode prints this using a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.1 layer height. You need two halves, place the coin between and glue together. Be generous with the glue. £5 coins are heavy and you are bound to drop this at some point.

I've added a print in place one piece holder with a pause to allow you to insert the crown then press continue and it will print the closing flange. It's not great as it sometimes strings when restarting after coin insertion. I've included the STL file so you can try producing your own Gcode for this.
