Crowd Sourced Abraham Lincoln
thingiverse
Using crowd-sourced Flickr images, the concept demonstrates creating 3D files. In reality, I didn't travel to Washington DC to scan the Lincoln Memorial. Instead, I searched for related "Lincoln Memorial statue" photos, downloaded originals, and uploaded them to 123d Catch. This generated a 3D model of Abraham Lincoln's face. Future plans involve an automated 3D generator based on crowd-sourced photography: search Flickr, download top 100 photos, upload to 123d Catch, and finally, download the 3D model. Hopefully, Google will integrate this into their search engine soon.
