Cross Roller Bearing for Slew Joint or Turntable

thingiverse

This is a versatile cross roller bearing designed specifically for use with a slew joint or turntable application. The outer race is crafted as a single, seamless piece that now features an optional pulley compatible with GT2-6 timing belts. Note that the code used to generate the pulley is somewhat of a workaround; you'll need to adjust settings in the timing2.scad file if you want to make any modifications to the pulley's design. The inner race has been divided into two sections - an upper and lower section - allowing for easy assembly of the bearing. These two parts are threaded together, enabling users to adjust the tension on the rollers by turning the thread. Additionally, there are two sets of holes that allow locking the thread position by inserting a small piece of raw 1.75 mm fiber into the holes. The carrier part responsible for keeping the rollers separate is somewhat delicate and may require careful printing; make sure your first layer adheres well to this part. Larger diameter bearings tend to perform better, and this particular bearing (150 mm OD) exhibits smoother operation compared to its smaller counterpart, Slew 8 version (70 mm OD). Further updates have been made by adding options for connecting tabs on the inner and outer ring, allowing users to face them either inward or outward. This updated design builds upon thing:4529219 (Slew 8, Cross Roller Bearing).
