Cross Bar Light Visor
thingiverse
I stumbled upon some incredible designs online for incorporating light holders into my Ender 3 printer. I opted against adding extra appendages protruding from the printer and sought to minimize modifications by using a minimalist approach. I decided to mount 12v LED strips directly onto the top brace of the printer, which doubled as a heat dissipation system. I created a sleek visor that seamlessly slides into the extrusion slot, effectively blocking LED glare while also preventing the bowden/cable snake from rubbing against the LEDs on taller prints. Using some spare XT-60 connectors, I crafted a tap from the main power supply without needing to cut any wires. This ingenious solution ensured a clean and efficient installation process. To take my setup to the next level, I utilized thermal switches that activate at 45C, which I attached underneath the heated bed. These clever devices enabled automatic on/off functionality for the lights based on the bed temperature. After printing two visors, I was thrilled to find that they fit perfectly into place without any issues.
