A Simple Cross and Base Design The OpenSCAD file is designed to work seamlessly with the Thingiverse Customizer, offering numerous options to customize the shape, size of the cross and base, as well as the quote on the base. "Cross and Base - Romans 12-12 NIV.stl" requires supports for a successful print, but all other STL files can be printed without any issues. Be cautious about bed adhesion and warping. How I Designed This Project 3D Models created using OpenSCAD version 2016.10.05 with the Customizer enabled for maximum flexibility. Customizing Your Cross and Base To generate custom STL files: Thingiverse Customizer Under "Things Apps Enabled" click on "Open in Customizer". Modify parameters as desired to customize your cross and base. When satisfied, click on "General Parameters" and change the "Object" to "Cross". Click on "Create Thing" to create the .STL for the cross. Change the "Object" to "Base" under "General Parameters". Click on "Create Thing" to create the .STL for the base. To print as one piece without supports, change the "Offset" under "Cross Parameters" to 0. My Printer Setup Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: Not required. Supports: Not required. Bed Adhesion: Brim - 4mm Resolution: Normal - .2mm Infill: 20% Wall Thickness: 1.2mm Printing Temperature: 195°C Bed Temperature: n/a - Heater Bed Not Installed (Yet!) Retraction: Enabled Print Speed: Cross: 100mm/sec print speed Base: 60mm/sec for better detail and to minimize printing artifacts Notes: Printed in PLA. ABS requires a heated bed and brim due to the base geometry's tendency to warp.
