Crochet Figure Stand
thingiverse
I created a stand for my crochet or amigurumi figures that requires separate nail hardware. Most stands I searched for were designed to either support a peg in the foot for action figures or grip the figure at the waist or neck. Since my crochet figures don't fit standard sizes and methods, I developed my own unique solution: skewering. The unique property of yarn is that it can be pierced fairly easily without damaging the figure. I realized that the best way to support a character was by creating a base support and then connecting it to the figure by stabbing them in the back. My stand is 72.5 mm high, which is just under 3 inches tall, with two hole options at 66 mm (2.6 inches) and 46mm (1.8 inches). This allows for flexibility depending on the size of the figure and where the nail can most easily support it. The nail holes are 2.6mm in diameter with a 4mm sink for the head. I'm using 1 inch panel board nails that I had left over from an old project. The Hillman Group Panel Board Nails, available on Amazon, appear to be close to what I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/Hillman-Group-532661-Panel-White/dp/B001F9SK8E. Alternatively, the Grip-Rite 16-1/2 x 1 inch White Steel Panel Board Nails, available at Home Depot, seem like a suitable option: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-16-1-2-x-1-in-White-Steel-Panel-Board-Nails-6-oz-Pack-1PBWH/202308581.
