Crochet and Knitting aid with table clamp
thingiverse
Designed this while helping my wife on a project for her AT class during her Occupational Therapy course (at PUC Campinas, Brazil). The objective was to build a device to help a lady do crochet with a single hand while she was hospitalized. The device would be clamped to a table by the side of her bed. I searched for something ready to print, but did not find any, so I built this one inspired by two projects they found on YouTube. The final design includes a table clamp on the base and a needle clamp attached to the top of a piece of wood they initially wanted to use. Later our user said she meant knitting instead of crochet. We did not test the device for knitting, but maybe it could also be used for that too. Some adjustments may be needed due to ergonomics. All parts were modeled using Autodesk Inventor 2019.
