Assemble the three parts of the blade separately before gluing them together with super glue or epoxy, painting each part first. The sword's design features a 1/4-inch rod running through its center and #8 rods on either side to facilitate alignment of the blade sections. To achieve a smooth base, some putty work is necessary to fix the curve. Smoothing the parts required filler primer and glazing putty. I used Krylon paints and Rub n' Buff for the main blade's finish.
