CRISTO EN MAJESTAD
sketchfab
Atr. Taller de Platerías was located at Ca. 1100 in Granito, recently identified as the first project for the Platerías facade where maybe it didn't even get installed until a certain moment in the first half of the 20th century when this piece was incorporated into the museum's Catedral funds, which was originally situated on the crest of the Tesoro facade of the claustral building. There, it had probably been placed during construction in the 16th century, coming from an uncertain location within the catedralicio ensemble. This is a plaque in high relief representing Christ in Majesty, blessing with his right hand, holding a book in his left and wearing a cruciferous nimbus with REX still visible above it, surrounded by a decorated mandorla adorned with stars that also holds the inscription BENEDICAT NOS DEXTRA DEI DE SEDES MAIESTAS. Each end of the slab is decorated with an additional star.
