Gene Editing is an Exciting New Field in Genetics This Field is Done with CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) and Cas Sequence Restriction Enzymes. This is a Remix of My DNA Restriction Enzymes Set, Available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1304176. For Space Reasons, I Removed the Spaces from Phosphate Groups and Condensed the CRISPR Target Sequence. The CRISPR 2 File Has a Large Cutout to Help See the DNA Sequence It Is Replacing, Cutting Material and Print Time Almost in Half. Use Both Pieces to Show How CRISPR / Cas9 Is Used in Gene Editing. Expand This to Talk About Bioethics, Cancer Treatment, and the Human Genome. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .2 - .3 Infill: 5% Notes: Break All Sharp Edges. Print 2 to Show How CRISPR Is a Palindrome Sequence. Print the Cas9 the Same as the RNA Pieces from My Other Manipulative Set. Print the CRIPSER in Whatever Color You Have in Bulk. To Print This So Letters Stand Out, Print the First Base Layers in a Dark Color (About 1.5 mm High), and Then Switch to a Lighter Filament About Halfway Through. This Will Produce Highly Visible Lettering That May Help Visually Impaired Students. Like the Other Restriction Enzymes, You Can Also Use a Permanent Marker to Highlight the Lettering. You Can 3D Print the CRISPR in Any Filament You Have in Bulk. As Cas9 Is a RNA Sequence, I Recommend Printing It the Same Color as the RNA Pieces.
