Crisper Drawer handle
prusaprinters
<p>My refrigerator crisper drawer had been hanging on by a thread. For the past two years, my wife and I had been trying not to touch it, but we keep the milk in there, so it was inevitable that one day it would crumble.</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/298190/rich_content/0cdacfd7-6fcc-4635-a7fc-50e1d8858a1b/273377750_10166183930100046_7874792274975397865_n.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22a5010bfd-0a5e-4821-9a11-8125b7c6f42e%22%2C%22w%22%3A1248%2C%22h%22%3A936%7D"></figure><p><strong>The guy at the appliance part store winced as he gave me the quote. </strong>“Frigidaire is pretty pricey,” he told me. “Especially the old PLRU1778ES0 model.” We opted to stay with the broken drawer, dragging our hands over the broken plastic every time we reached for a bag of milk. (Yes, bags. It's an Eastern Canada thing.) </p><p>Finally, my wife came to me with bloodied hands one day and told me in no uncertain terms that enough was enough. If we could afford all these 3D printers then we can afford to buy the replacement part. <strong>“Either that,” she threatened sweetly, “Or a new fridge.”</strong></p><p>I agreed to go on Monday. That gave me 24 hours. The clock was ticking. <strong>I threw my spool of poly-carbonate into the toaster oven and got to work.</strong></p><p>I broke out Fusion 360 and whipped up a quick design based on the measurements. <img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/298190/rich_content/26f7627e-fab8-4da3-9650-36de0c73ccbc/273288970_10166183926015046_677400165103411065_n.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22b8b965ba-e30b-4373-9e3f-de1302c7cd22%22%2C%22w%22%3A1834%2C%22h%22%3A1055%7D"></p><p>Prusaslicer was able to save a lot of time, printing out a 1cm high slice to ensure fit. This sleeve fits over the front of the crisper drawer, so I crossed my fingers and printed out the full thing.</p><p><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/298190/rich_content/c87a8af0-291c-4a84-858f-e75548dcdeb3/273214923_10166184334430046_7712803659093612501_n.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%2246271ad9-ecf8-4175-9ec5-1250a3f3b12e%22%2C%22w%22%3A702%2C%22h%22%3A936%7D"> </p><p>After carefully cutting off the remnants of the old handle, I sanded the surface, and used spray adhesive to attach the sleeve over the old crisper.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/298190/rich_content/f2cb8465-84e6-4f32-8b55-792f43bcc62d/273384486_10166184893000046_6710689784724072681_n.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22ae2d0293-d067-476d-8950-d131ce7c82d1%22%2C%22w%22%3A1248%2C%22h%22%3A936%7D"></figure><p><strong>Happy wife, happy life!</strong></p>
