Crinkle Lamp
thingiverse
This lamp showcases an innovative design reminiscent of the renowned Voronoi Lamp (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:584714). Each overhanging surface precisely measures 45 degrees, allowing for seamless prints devoid of supports or complications. Instructions A solid variant of the object, crinklelamp_solid.stl, is now available, potentially offering a simpler slicing process. The model was printed using natural (clear) PLA with layers measuring 0.2mm, with the unique printing sequence progressing from top to bottom. A wall thickness was deliberately chosen for printing with exactly two layer widths when employing a 0.4mm nozzle. As such, scaling this lamp may lead to unexpected slicing results. Originally, I utilized Slic3r 1.1.7 for slicing purposes; however, the output featured an excessive number of unnecessary traverse moves. Simplify3D proved effective in subsequent slicing attempts without printing incidents. Edit: UserUnrelated has confirmed successful printing with the latest version of Slic3r (1.2.6) on his project (http://www.thingiverse.com/make:119553), even scaling it to 50% and achieving a fast, single-wall print with excellent results.
