A simple design was desired, allowing for printing of the rod and lamp base as distinct components. PETG material was chosen for the base due to its superior temperature resistance properties when compared to ABS, which was used for the rod. The 1-meter long LED strip visible in the photo is a notable feature. To secure the rod in place, a snap fit mechanism is employed, while cables and an RF receiver/led controller are firmly attached using hot glue. A slight modification was necessary at the bottom of the base to accommodate the cable, involving a drill-out operation to create a suitable path for it.
