Crinkle Lamp Base - 235mm lamp
thingiverse
I needed a base for the amazing [Crinkle Lamp](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:676350). This will fit the Crinkle Lamp printed at 235mm tall. This will mount the [HiLetgo ESP8266](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081CSJV2V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which is used to control the addressable LED strip. Once you stick the micro controller on the standoffs you can use a soldering iron or something else hot to melt the top of the standoff to hold it in place. Retainers were designed into the central pillar to hold and space a 3.3 foot LED strip such as [this one](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LSF4QDM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The retainer on the top makes sure the top of the lamp is lit. I recommend supports to make sure these come out ok. Here are some other parts I used: [Power Socket](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S5ZLFDG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [Power Supply](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TTQ55QF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) To fit the base into the lamp you will need to make a cutout to accommodate the power socket holder since the lamp doesn't already have one. I did it this way so all the electronics could be mounted on the base before putting the two together. It is friction fit and should hold just fine on it's own with no glue needed.
