Cricut Blade Holder for MakerSlide
thingiverse
My wife had been wanting a dedicated vinyl cutter for some craft projects, and we happened to have an old Cricut Expression sitting in a box, so I decided to make an adapter to hold the readily available Cricut blade for my CNC machine. My machine is based on MakerSlide extrusion, and I designed this part to key into the extrusion T-slots as well as be secured by the M5 bolts from the bottom of the axis. The part should be a pretty simple print and is designed to put as little strain on the part as possible. When setting up the cut, make sure your Z height is adjusted properly because it's not outside the realm of reason for a Z crash to break the holder. I use SheetCAM software with their drag knife plugin to create G-code files. I highly recommend the software for all 2.5D CAM applications!
