This text explains a DIY project involving an LED frame obtained from American Science and Surplus. The LED modules were initially designed for Cricket scoreboards, featuring four LEDs per ring with two slashes each. For the RTC, a DS1307 kit purchased from Adafruit (http://adafruit.com/products/264) was used. The main PCB holds an Atmega328 chip programmed with an Arduino bootloader. Details and discussions are available on the blog (http://www.engunneer.com/content/blog/cricket-clock). To assemble, print both parts, drill 3mm holes, install LED modules and circuit boards, wire them up, and program the device.
