Cress-seed growing-sieve
thingiverse
A cress-seed growing tray for cultivating cress or other seeds. It serves as a substitute for the conventional cotton-wool method using plates. The hexagonal design allows for efficient arrangement of trays without wasting space. See the original: http://www.getreidemuehlen.at/products/en/cress-tray-eschenfelder.html The sieve should be fine enough to prevent seeds from falling through. If it is too coarse, water the seeds before distributing them on the tray. I chose bridged filament to create a fine net for this purpose. [Update - 2016.03.07] The top part has been updated to improve printability of the fine net. Print Settings Supports: Yes Notes: Use support for the upper part. A nozzle diameter not exceeding 0.4 is recommended, with 0.3 being optimal. The layer height should be 0.2mm due to the model's need for this resolution in the net. If you encounter printing issues, try: -increasing retraction setting: "minimum travel after retraction" to 3mm -increasing retraction setting: "extra length on restart" to a value higher than zero -increasing the bridge flow ratio -adjusting the filament temperature -increasing the perimeters-overlap percentage
