Cresent Map Cipher

Cresent Map Cipher

thingiverse

This cipher is used to find points on a map by using three pairs of runes to position each crescent. Looking through the window in the centre crescent will show a location on the map below. The set of crescents can be placed on top of a large map, or a circular map cut-out can be placed in the RingBase piece, with the crescents placed on top. The SightDouble piece allows for reversing the process. By lining up both peep holes a unique set of runes can be acquired. Use the MoonSight if you only want two crescents rather than three. See the video (coming soon) for more information. The CrescentCipher.svg can be used to print on paper and attach to cardboard if you don't want to 3dPrint. UPDATE 2021-12-20 -removed the base. Use RingBase instead -removed middle section of RingBase to reduce printing time. When the map is below the crescents will be supported by the map. -added MoonSight option -reduced depth of runes to make painting easier -added a double peep-hole sight to allow inverting the process (two points to runes)
