Cremation Urn Bolton Museum and Library Archaeology Collection - Noon Hill Excavation A low-fired clay food vessel with a distinctive collared rim has been carefully restored from numerous fragmented pieces. Originally unearthed during the excavation of a Bronze Age burial cairn at Noon Hill in Bolton by the Bolton Archaeological Society in the 1950s, this urn has undergone several transformations since its initial discovery. Expertly reassembled and put on display for various periods since 1958, the urn's unique history is now accessible to the public.
