Creepy Spider Pull Chain for Lamp

Here is a lifelike spider design for your 3D printer. I printed mine with a SLA resin printer, and it works beautifully. You should be able to use any other type of 3D printer as well, but you may need to adjust the printing instructions that follow. To create your own spider, refer to the photos provided here. First, download the file and load it into your slicing software. Make sure to double-check the size of the design. The length from the end of the front legs to the back end, or abdomen, should be 45.92 mm exactly. It's crucial to keep this precise size so that you don't inadvertently alter the size of a hole for a chain, which we'll cover later. Add supports to your spider model. Medium-duty and 50% density are recommended settings. Slice the object and send the output to your printer. After printing is complete, remove the supports carefully. If necessary, cure the printed material with additional UV light and file away any rough spots. Paint the spider with a pattern of your choice using spray enamel, acrylic, or a combination of both. This design features an undercoat of black spray enamel and brushed-on acrylic spots. A glossy top coat of polyurethane adds a beautiful finish to the piece. The spider has a built-in hole that is specifically designed to accept a 1/8 inch pull chain or cord. After painting, apply a drop of cyanoacrylate (super glue) into the hole and press the end of a 5-inch long pull chain into the glue carefully. Be sure not to get any glue on your fingers. Once the glue has set, you can attach the finished spider to a lamp pull chain. Happy Halloween!
