Happy Halloween! Here's an easy-to-tweak OpenSCAD script that produces various spider shapes. The spider is designed to print flat, then heated legs can be bent into more interesting poses. Flat, spiders make a great decoration for any occasion! Special thanks to co-designer Marlo-Ann for help and inspiration. Instructions: Spiders are quick and easy to print. Medium-sized spiders take under 15 minutes! Once printed, remove the spider from the build plate and use a heat gun, light bulb, or other heat source to soften leg joints and pose them (Posing legs makes them appear extra big and creepy!). You can use included STLs or edit spiders.scad to produce a spider that suits your taste. By default, the spider is asymmetrical with a raised abdomen (an aggressive posture). Change parameters right away for instant results! For example, spider(fat=true); produces thicker legs for smaller prints, while spider(elbow=[25,25]); makes a spider with more bent joints. Other adjustments are clear in the source code. We printed these in glowing PLA and they look great!
