Smartphone stand that folds into a remarkably thin credit card measuring only 4mm in thickness. This versatile stand can also securely hold tablets in both landscape and portrait orientations, with successful testing conducted up to 10-inch models. Multiple devices can be supported at four different angles for convenient viewing. When closed, the stand locks firmly in place at four strategic spots, providing a secure hold even under weight. However, it does require a relatively flat surface to function properly, as movement may occur on very smooth surfaces. Despite this, a collapse is highly unlikely. Designed with ease of use and minimal support requirements in mind, this smartphone stand can be printed directly into place without the need for additional supports. When first printing, hinges and locks should be carefully opened due to potential slight fusing issues. A raft may also be necessary for optimal adhesion and to prevent the development of elephant's foot. Four different models are available, each featuring two distinct gap tolerances (0.3mm and 0.4mm) and two unique vanity designs (a face and a heart). In my testing, a 0.3mm tolerance has proven suitable for PETG, while a 0.4mm tolerance is recommended for PLA. With only one printer to test on, I welcome feedback from users to determine the optimal gap tolerances for various materials. If requested, models with lower tolerances can be uploaded for testing and evaluation.
