CREATOR BLOCKS originated from an ambition to enhance the timeless classic chess game - a perfect game already, maybe "improve" is not the right word - I wanted to inject some fresh excitement into it. Envisioning a game influenced by its environment led me to draw inspiration from other tabletop games like Tactics Ogre and Dofus; combining these elements helped CREATOR BLOCKS take shape. What started out as an enhanced chess board transformed into a robust, open-source tabletop game, where users can create their own rules - plus having the 3D files compatible with any miniature set makes this versatile. A square-tile layout allows players to craft engaging experiences with precision, accompanied by hexagonal tiles that evoke dynamic scenarios. Although triangle tiles aren't available yet, their eventual inclusion promises further customization possibilities. It pains me to admit that the timeline took longer than anticipated. Surprisingly, I've spotted another individual launching a remarkably similar tabletop board game. Due to this duplication of ideas, obtaining patent protection is no longer an option - though initially my desire was merely self-preservation in an era fraught with litigious vultures eager to capitalize on unpatented intellectual property. In recognition that my contribution won't bring any revenue, I will focus solely on expanding the range of customizable components. As long as enthusiasts are passionate about exploring these possibilities alongside me.
