Filament spools boast a tapered hole, a key feature that presents a unique challenge for certain 3D printers. The Creator Pro model, in particular, requires two spools to be mounted side by side: one feeding from the right and the other from the left. However, standard spool holders often fail to account for the taper of the hole on the left spool due to its opposite orientation compared to the right. As a result, the lock snaps on the spool holder are designed to grasp the small end of the tapered hole, but they inevitably miss the large end of the tapered hole. This causes the spool to drift off the spool holder, resulting in loose or unstable filament feeding. To address this issue, a simple yet effective solution is available: a spacer ring that slips onto the end of the spool holder and into the end of the spool itself. This clever design provides the snap features with something solid to grasp, thereby securing the spool firmly in place. In most cases, only one spacer would be required per printer, but this may vary depending on the specific type of filament used and its winding orientation on the spool.
