Creatly Ender 3 PSU enclosure for Mean Well RSP-500-24 PSU with USB Power
thingiverse
My original Ender 3 PSU went pop and so I decided to replace it with a Mean Well RSP 500 unit. Looking around on Thingiverse there didn't seem to be a suitable enclosure. Also none of the mounting holes on the RSP PSU line up with the original PSU fixing points. Here is the case I have designed to integrate between the Mean Well RSP PSU and the Ender 3 mounting points. Also I have incorporated USB power for powering a Raspberry Pi or similar. This uses the Hobbywing UBEC 3A 2-6S, which is a DC step-down converter to convert the 24V DC from PSU to 5V DC (max 3A) for the Pi. As used in this PSU enclosure by mfau: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3225570 To add the USB power function you will need a Hobbywing UBEC converter and a USB bulkhead fitting. http://www.hobbywing.com/goods.php?id=376 https://www.amazon.co.uk/TanQY-Square-Extension-Motorcycle-Dashboard-1M-3Ft/dp/B07PZVQVLL/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=usb+square+flush+mount&qid=1617447530&sr=8-6 I soldered mine together and used heat shrink tubing to tidy it all up. But if you don't have a soldering Iron you could crimp the wires together or use a terminal block. At a push just twisting the wires together (securely) and taping would do. Just remember to insulate any bare wires. For wiring up see the mfau PSU enclosure. You will also need a few new fixing screws: IEC connector screws (reuse original) M4 x 8mm Countersunk - 5 off M4 x 6mm Cap head - 2 off M4 x 20mm Cap head - 1off M4 x 12mm Cap head - 1 off - You may have to change this as I ended up having to use a slightly longer one You can use any countersunk screw the head style it doesn't really matter. I used Allen head to keep tools needed to a minimum. Also wort noting that screw length of countersunk screws is measured as the whole length where as the cap heads is just the tread length. The tolerances on the print are quite tight to make everything fit together nicely. You may want to check your steps / mm calibration for your printer. More details in print settings. I have made a quick to print 150mm x 150mm box to print to help dial in the calibration. Have a look at my other things for this.
