Creativity Elf - Orbiter/Dragon Mounting Kit

This is a mounting kit I designed to install an Orbiter extruder and Dragon hot-end combination onto my Elf. I tried my best to use the factory metal X carriage bracket but it just would not work without modification. I ended up making everything from scratch and with the proper bracing, it is very solid. You will need a 30x30x10mm fan for the hot-end and a 50x15 blower fan for part cooling. The hot-end cage accepts an inductive probe if you use one (Offset 23,12,0). This mod is compatible with both sensor and sensor-less homing. The included X end-stop block is substituted for the X limit switch for sensor-less homing. For sensored homing, the factory Y limit switch cover must be swapped with the included shorter cover to provide the clearance needed. If not using a probe, your Z end-stops may need to be adjusted. You will need the following buttonhead screws to install the kit: M3 x 12 (15), M3 x 8 (6), M3 x 16 (5), M3 x 22 (2), M3 x 6 set screw (1) (if using an inductive probe). Regarding fans. Cheap fans are bad. They hardly blow any air and will cause problems. I have bought many and they are all sitting in a box not being used because they are garbage. For a hot-end fan I use and suggest the one that E3D sells for their V6. It blows a lot of air and cools the heatsink properly. For part cooling I strongly suggest the 5015 that TH3D sells. I bought one recently and could not believe how much air they put out. Well worth the few extra dollars. Printing the parts. Supports are not required but you may want to paint some small supports under the screw head recesses on the hot-end cage and the extruder mount. They will come out a little cleaner if you do. Print as follows: X Carriage Bracket - Upside down X Carriage Bracket Brace - Right side up Hot-end Cage - Upside down (paint on supports under holes if desired) Extruder Mount - Upside down (paint on supports under holes if desired) Fan Duct - Right side up Probe Wire Guide - Right side up Belt Locks - Belt opening up X End-stop Block - Holes up Y switch cover - Openings up Update 9-11-21: Added BLTouch versions of the hotend cage, extruder mount, and fan duct. Shims are included for BLTouch height adjustment. Belt Locks beefed up. Location for X endstop switch corrected on X carriage bracket.
