Creatbot DX Z Microswitch Mount

Creatbot DX Z Microswitch Mount

thingiverse

This is a mount for the Z axis Microswitch designed specifically for the Creatbot DX printer. The default mount falls short in terms of adjusting the Z axis home position, relying on two M3 bolts that pass through the back panel to achieve this. However, physically moving these up/down and retightening them can be a bit clumsy and potentially lead to major disassembly if one bolt is removed and then re-inserted. To avoid such a situation, I decided to replace the default microswitch mount with a new one. Furthermore, I opted for a roller version of the lever microswitch, as shown in the photograph provided on the web page https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/microswitches/0320528/. The mounting process involves using M2.5 25mm bolts that screw directly into the plastic, ensuring a snug fit without needing nuts to hold the microswitch in place. It's worth noting that this mount can also accommodate regular microswitches, thanks to the printed mounting holes in the design. To assemble this mount, you will need two flanged M3 rivnuts and two M3 25mm bolts, along with M3 star lock washers if desired for added security. Once assembled, the mount installs similarly to the factory-supplied one but with a more positive and adjustable platform on the back of the printer. Print Settings: Printer: Creatbot DX Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% I designed this mount using TinkerCAD, ensuring that it would be easy to use and effective in adjusting the Z axis home position without any potential issues associated with the default mount.
